Memorial Day 2025
San Diego Honors Its Heroes at Miramar & Fort Rosecrans National Cemeteries
A Legacy of Valor. A Community of Gratitude.
In San Diego, Memorial Day is more than a date—it's a citywide tribute to the men and women who gave their lives for our country. Two deeply moving ceremonies at Miramar National Cemetery and Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery invite us to pause, reflect, and honor their sacrifice.
As a San Diegan from a proud lineage of military service—primarily Navy—this day holds deep personal meaning. That legacy drives my mission to support veteran buyers as a Military Relocation Professional (MRP), helping them transition from service to homeownership with the respect and dedication they deserve.

Set along the cliffs of Point Loma, Fort Rosecrans is a California Historical Landmark and one of the region’s most honored final resting places. With a tradition of remembrance over 100 years strong, the ceremony is organized by local veterans’ organizations and patriotic groups who keep the memory of the fallen alive.
Its legacy is extended through Miramar National Cemetery, a 313-acre annex dedicated to serving our military families now and in the future.
“Their courage endures. Their legacy lives on.”
A Brief History of Memorial Day
Originally known as Decoration Day, Memorial Day began in 1868 to honor Civil War soldiers. It became a federal holiday in 1971 and is now observed on the last Monday of May, uniting Americans in remembrance and gratitude.

A Personal Reflection
To me, Memorial Day is a responsibility. A moment to remember that freedom has a price. As a REALTOR®, Broker, and MRP Designee, I am proud to help our veterans build stability and legacy through homeownership.
“Let us honor their memory by living lives worthy of their sacrifice.”
Bring your heart. Bring your family. Bring your gratitude.
Let us come together and ensure their stories live on—not just in history, but in the homes and communities they protected.
